Make your planning visual

In my experience the number 1 way to reduce stress is to be organized.

But that’s easier said than done if you are a creative entrepreneur and have 100 brilliant ideas that are each competing for your attention.

It can feel overwhelming and stressful to have so many ideas.

But there is great news, you don’t have to feel overwhelmed and you don’t have to use the traditional planning tools, which does not take into consideration important factors such as managing your own energy while getting your work out there.

If my words resonate with you, I would love to teach you how to use the OTM Map and its 5 success principles – a holistic and fun way to plan your work, so that you can get the results that you want without feeling overwhelmed by it all.

To learn how to use the OTM Map, I am offering to you the  “Get Your Success On Track NOW” online course, which will teach you all you need to know about how to use the OTM Map, so that you can get your work out.

The cost of “Get Your Success On Track NOW”  course is only USD 47,- for a limited period of time.

After November 2, 2017 the price goes up to USD 97,-.

Ps. This is a really good deal, since you also get an OTM strategy session with me (value USD 197,-), when you sign up for the course. If you wish, I will teach you how to use your creativity to make the OTM Map uniquely yours!

Vision 2016

I’ve worked with goal setting since 1997 and I can tell you that setting goals and keeping on track, will make a huge difference to YOUR  success.

Things don’t always go as you plan.

But the good news is that there are always key learnings and – in fact – sometimes things go even better than what you had planned for.

Setting goals and having a compelling vision for 2016 is key to YOUR success.

Have no fear.

Long gone are the days when I would use a one-fit-all, linear goal setting system.

Forget about that.

Now I have invented On Track Mastery (OTM) which is customized to fit YOUR exact needs and challenges:

Why OTM works:

  1. OTM is holistically based; if you have personal blockages to success we will address that and help shift your assumptions and beliefs so that you become free to achieve the success that you want.
    xx
  2. OTM draws upon native american tools such as the medicine wheel (for evaluation), as well as a variety of visual tools, like drawing your vision which will keep it memorable and help implement lasting results.
    xx
  3. OTM provides you will a clear model and concrete tools that are customized to meet YOUR specific needs and challenges. Not only will you be able to create a juicy vision for 2016 but OTM also helps you stay on track with your success.

Some important components to setting goal setting goals and visioning:

  1. Do take the time out to first make a thorough evaluation of this past year:
    x
    – What is there to celerate?
    – What didn’t go as you had planned?
    – What have you learned so far?
    x
Don’t‘ skip this part as setting goals and vision on top of something which is not working simply won’t bring you the results that you are looking for.
    x
  2. Do keep it simple & memorable
    x
    – Less is often more, don’t overkill, small goals really DO matter
    – Build from your success, one simple step at a time
    – Make your goals matter, why do you want, what you want?
    x
  3. Do have a simple follow-up system ready
    xxx
    – You need a clear follow-up structure
    – You need concrete tools and strategies
    – You need the support of a group or mentor

– Keep this in mind, research clearly shows that we are 6 times more likely to reach our goals when we have the support of a mentor, or group.

The Berlin War didn’t break down over night, why would yours?

Resistance!

If you want to rely on certainty “resistance” is a (very) safe choice.

Resistance seems to be part of our DNA and something we all get to experience at various stages of our lives.

Be that resistance to learn something new or even resistance to success.

My mentor used to tell me:

“what you want (be that promotion, personal power or prosperity) is on the other side of resistance”.

Whenever she said that I honestly didn’t have a clue about what she was talking about.

What on earth did she mean by that?

Wasn’t I “clever enough”, having spent many thousand of dollars on my own personal education and wasn’t I a fully qualified coach? Well, truth be told I probably wasn’t as smart as I thought I was.

The key that I learned is that resistance resides in the mental department.

And if you try to approach resistance with mental tools (like I did) and like so many of us are taught, there isn’t the slightest chance of changing anything except “rearranging a few furniture” on the surface of your mind.

I prefer to take to Einstein’s advice.

Einstein said something to the extend of “you cannot solve a problem with the same kind of thinking that caused the problem in the first place.”

To that I would add that most of the time you really cannot solve the problem by thinking! You have to act; check out of the mental department and start to rely on the wisdom of your gut feeling.

And once you start to do that (let your brain take a rest it probably needs it) and take direct action – which is directed more by your gut feeling than your intellect – that is when life start to change for the better – at least that’s been my own experience for all that it’s worth.

So why am I talking about resistance in the first place?

Because resistance could very well be what is keeping you stuck in your comfort zone.

Maybe you know what you want. For example, reduce your level of stress so that you can sleep at night and stop biting your nails, or perhaps simply getting started on writing the book that’s been on your mind for years.

But you are still procrastinating because you are resisting the change. Don’t get me wrong. Resistance can certainly be good at appropriate times and it isn’t always bad.

But here is the thing.

Most often resistance is developed at a very young age and although it may have been a good strategy at the time being to be on guard and judge everything as good or bad, this strategy probably doesn’t work for you if you are an adult person who wants to create real results.

I mean, results that REALLY matter to your heart, your soul, and your bank account.

So how do you go about breaking your personal wall (of resistance) down?

Here’s a couple of tips to help you get started:

What does Bamboo Roots and Habits have in Common?

Procrastination – 15 Strategies To Overcome Procrastination Today!

Procrastination can be painful but at its core it is nothing but a (really) bad habit.

However, it can be a nasty little one and it quite often holds us back from getting what we really want in life.

The question then seems to be, ”how can I begin to establish empowering habits to support the fulfillment of my goals?”

Changing habits isn’t always easy but it can be done if you really want to.

Although many people would argue that it’s too tough and give up it doesn’t have to be that difficult. Once we understand the nature of habits and how they work it becomes a lot easier to cause correct.

Personally, I learned a lot from doing gardening and the laws of nature.

For the past 3 summers I have been digging out Bamboo roots in my garden and I couldn’t help but notice how the pattern of the bamboo roots seems much like the pattern of habits.

Here are a few of the traits that I see bamboo roots and habits share:

  1. They go deep (well established) and have their persistent ways
  2. The hide below the surface (our habits are most often run by our subconscious mind)
  3. They can be tricky if we don’t identify the relationship between the cause and the effect

It is not the strength of one single habit that makes it hard to break – more so we need to take the time out to identify the root cause and find out why we have the habits that we do and observe the results that our habits create.

For example. You may be focusing on stress in you life and how it affects you in terms of sleepless nights or obsessive worrying, nail biting and so forth.

Although that could be perfectly understandable, I would encourage you to focus elsewhere as this – as unpleasant as it may be – is only the effect of a much deeper root cause.

A better focus could be to look in the direction of your inner belief system.

What is the belief that you hold which is causing the stress?

Do you believe that your work has to be perfect for it to be good enough to bring value to other people or for your boss to approve of it?

And if your work doesn’t live up to your inner critic’s standards – do you give up on yet another project or promotion?

Don’t feel discouraged by this.

There is very good news. You are the CEO of your own habits.

And as the CEO of your own habits you can change them for the better.

Once we understand the nature of our habits there are actually many relatively simple ways to change those (nasty) habits.

Although each of the followings tips could be the subject of an entire article in it self, I hope that you will get the idea. It is also worth remembering that even just a small baby step can actually lead to major changes.
